PARTNERS IN DEVELOPING ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES
On 25 August 2015 Susana Menéndez, Executive Board of The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS), Marius Enthoven and Eveline Hartogs, resp. Chairman and Secretary of the Board of the Alliance for UPEACE, signed a new Memorandum of Agreement for the academic years 2015-2016, 2016-2017, and 2017-2018.
This MoA comprises renewal and extension of the existing collaboration between both parties. Since September 2012 UPEACE Centre The Hague has been contributing to the educational curriculum of two Bachelor studies of THUAS (Public Management, Safety and Security Management Studies).
As of September 2015 it will extend its services to the Master of Business Administration, develop a Minor in Human Rights and Social Work, and contribute to the Winter and Summer School of THUAS.
In 2012 UPEACE The Hague has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Haagse Hogeschool (The Hague University of Applied Sciences) with a view to cooperation in the field of peace education in general. In the academic year 2012-2013 the parties have started to develop and implement academic programmes. Further cooperation is foreseen up to and including the academic year 2015-2016.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in 2012 with Leiden University College The Hague (LUC), with a view to explore opportunities for reciprocal exchange of research and teaching staff and in particular to develop a track of courses in the bachelor programme at LUC. A first step has been taken in the academic year 2012-2013, in a course in Peace and Conflict Studies.
Furthermore UPEACE The Hague has entered into partnerships with International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam (2010) and with UNESCO-IHE Delft (2011). The purpose of these partnerships is to develop joint research and educational programmes and to promote exchange of lecturers and students.
